Welcome from the President

Greetings Alcornites:

Welcome to the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association Alumni website.  I hope you will view this new site of the Alumni Association as a vehicle that will enable you to stay abreast of University and Alumni Association activities and events, as well as a means of maintaining contact and reconnecting with friends and former classmates.   As we begin the 2009-2010 academic year, I am asking all Alcorn alumni to join your leadership team in helping to move our University and Association to the next level.  The possibilities are unlimited if we join together.

The Alumni Association has developed an excellent working relationship with our new interim University President, Dr. Norris Edney.  He has turned his attention immediately to critical issues affecting our university.  I hope you will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Edney on one of your visits to the campus.  Dr. Edney has challenged us to step up and provide financial support to our University, and I join him in issuing that challenge to all of you-our Alumni.

Alcorn State University is first rate and deserves a first rate alumni association. It will take all of our collective efforts to assist us in building a premier Alumni Association.  Over the coming year, we will be inviting Alcorn alumni, students, parents, administration, faculty, staff, friends and partners to engage, support, and promote the national alumni activities, initiatives, and programs.

As President of your Alumni Association, I welcome and encourage your suggestions and comments.   The other national officers and I are honored to have the opportunity to serve you and take that responsibility seriously.  Please, share your input and feedback with me at asualumnipresident@hotmail.com

Alcornites, as we move forward into this new year, let us find ways in which we can renew the eminent Spirit of Alcorn--where we will guard the legacy of our past, be good stewards of the Alcorn traditions while working hard to better our beloved Alma Mater undefined Alcorn State University.

We are counting on YOU to demonstrate your Alcornite pride.
